Happy New Year! – January 1, 2011 Update

Upsets continue to be the story of the 2010 bowl season. In fact, only one entry had all four picks correct yesterday (Brandon Snare – and, yes, he made all his own choices). Jim Van Natta has emerged as the leader with 12 of 16 correct overall.

As usual, the New Year’s Day games will be pivotal in the outcome of the pool. Here’s the line-up:
1/1 – Northwestern vs. Texas Tech – 12pm ESPNU
1/1 – Florida vs. Penn State – 1pm ABC
1/1 – Alabama vs. Michigan St. – 1pm ESPN
1/1 – Mississippi St. vs. Michigan – 1:30pm ESPN2
1/1 – Wisconsin vs. TCU – 5pm ESPN (worth 2 points)
1/1 – Oklahoma vs. Connecticut – 8:30pm ESPN (worth 2 points)

December 29, 2010 Update – 10 AM

After upsets in 4 of the first 6 games, no perfect entries remain. Following last night’s action, 3 people are tied for first place with 1 wrong – Frank E. Cierech, Jim Van Natta, and Mark Franzyshen. The games come fast and furious over the next couple days, including 3 games today, so there is sure to be a shake-up in the standings.

12/29 – East Carolina vs. Maryland – 2:30pm ESPN
12/29 – Illinois vs. Baylor – 6pm ESPN
12/29 – Oklahoma St. vs. Arizona – 9:15pm ESPN

Bowl Pool – 2010!

The annual college bowl pool returns for 2010.

Save your picks in the entry form spreadsheet below by entering the numbers of your choices in the yellow cells across the top, and email the file back to me. Cost is 5 bucks and it is due December 21 (the earlier the better). Feel free to distribute to others who may be interested.

Top 3 places will pay out, and last place will get their money back. Some crappy bowl games have been left off the list intentionally (sorry Florida International fans).
