2009 Bowl Pool Results – B

The first game is tonight.  Good luck!

Final Results – January 9, 2009

Congratulations to Doug Eby for winning this year’s bowl pool by the narrowest of margins – half a point in the tiebreaker!

Last year’s winner, George Collins, claimed 2nd place, while Rich Moore won the tiebreaker for 3rd place.  Molly Heffner will have her $5 returned for finishing last.

Final Results

Thanks to everyone for playing.

Update – January 6, 2009

With just the National Championship game remaining, we have a 5-way tie for first place.

If Oklahoma wins on Thursday, Dennis Haughey (tiebreaker 82), Garrett Lelko (65), and Rory McPeek (63) will finish in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with the order determined by the final score.

If Florida wins on Thursday, George Collins (69) and Doug Eby (68.5) will finish in 1st and 2nd, with the order determined by the final score.  Jim Burnett (85), Nellie Greer (66), and Rich Moore (58) would be in a tiebreaker for 3rd place.

Good luck!

January 6 Update

Update – January 5, 2009 10:30 AM

The upset win by Utah didn’t shake up the standings too much, as most entries near the top of the leaderboard had Alabama.  George Collins can wrap up back-to-back wins in the pool if Ohio State can pull the upset tonight.  If not, it will all come down to Thursday’s National Championship Game.  There are still many scenarios for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and last place.

January 5 Update

Update – January 2, 2009 9:30AM

With 3 games to go, last year’s winner George Collins has again risen to the top of the leaderboard with 20 points.  But there are several entries still alive to win 1st place.  By my unofficial count, they are:

George Collins, Dennis Haughey, Doug Eby, Garrett Lelko, and Rory McPeek.

Still alive for 2nd or 3rd place are: Jim Burnett, Kirk Hissner, Rich Moore, and Nellie Greer.

And many entries are still alive for last place 🙂

January 2 Update

Update – December 29, 2008 – 8 AM

Seven games in, and everybody has at least 1 loss.  Three entries sit atop the leaderboard with 6 out of 7 correct.  See the updated spreadsheet below:

December 29 Update

After upsets in the first three games, things have settled down with the favorites winning the last 4.
