January 12, 2016 – Final Results!

Congratulations to Barry Brandt for winning this year’s bowl pool! Barry correctly picked Alabama to win the National Championship, and had the closest tiebreaker score in last night’s high-scoring and highly entertaining game. Will Wu and Scott Mason tied Barry’s total of 27 points, and finished second and third, respectively, after the tiebreaker. Kate-Lyn Galligan will get her money back for finishing last.

Completed Games:
National Championship Game – 1/11/16
Alabama 45, Clemson 40

Thanks to everyone for playing!

One game left – January 3, 2016 Update

Wow! What a finish to bowl week! TCU completed the biggest comeback win in bowl history last night, rallying from a 31-0 halftime deficit to stun Oregon in triple overtime and crushing the chances of the entries that picked Oregon. With just the National Championship game remaining, there is a three-way tie for first place – Barry Brandt, Scott Mason, and Will Wu all picked TCU and they now stand atop the leaderboard with 24 points. Click the link above “2015 Standings” for the latest results.

The three leaders all picked Alabama to win the National Championship. Therefore, if Alabama wins, Barry, Scott, and Will will remain tied, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be determined by the tiebreaker scores:

Barry Brandt – tiebreaker guess – 58 points
Scott Mason – tiebreaker guess – 44 points
Will Wu – tiebreaker guess – 56 points

If Clemson wins, Jason Edelen will rise to the top of the standings with 25 points and win the pool. In that scenario, our three current leaders would tie for 2nd, and a tiebreaker scores above would be used to determine the 2nd place and 3rd place finishers.

Last year’s winner, Kate-Lyn Galligan, has secured last place and will get her $10 returned. Just goes to show that anything can happen!
